We are both proud and honoured to announce that joining former UK Government Drugs Minister Norman Baker as Patrons, are Paul Flynn MP (Newport West) and Tonia Antoniazzi MP (Gower).
We have had public support from The Green party, including Caroline Lucas MP, who helped us launch in July 2014. (We have some news about her, coming soon) Besides Norman, we have also had support from Liberal Democrats like Nick Clegg, Norman Lamb MP and we will have some news about one or two others very soon. Getting Labour MPs on board like this now, really sets the balance in our favour.....and we think we are raising awareness of the plight of cannabis patients in all the right places in the Labour Party leadership:
Paul Flynn MP for Newport West - Patron of United Patients Alliance
"I am delighted to become a Patron of United Patients Alliance. I will do everything I can to help"
“Please support my bill that will end the anxiety of the threat of prosecution from seriously ill patients taking their medicine of choice. The bill is sponsored by members of all parties, The Multiple Sclerosis Society, United Patients Alliance and a Police & Crime Commissioner."
A jury asked a judge if they could ignore the law and release an MS sufferer charged with using an illegal drug. The Judge firmly ruled that only Parliament determined the law. The ball is in our court. On Tuesday we can change an unjust law and help tens of thousands of patients who are enduring the torments of MS and other serious illnesses"
Paul Flynn MP (82) has been the MP for Newport West since the 1987. He was born in Cardiff. In 2016, he briefly served as Shadow Secretary of State for Wales and Shadow Leader of the House of Commons. Aged 81, he became the oldest MP in over a century to hold a shadow cabinet position. He has supported the legalisation of cannabis as a medicine for over 30 years and has stood up in parliament 116 times for the cause in the last 20 years. His personal website is here: Paul Flynn

Jon Liebling, Political Director of United Patients Alliance
“To have gained such public support from serving MPs should be testament to the seriousness and credibility of our goal to advance legal access to cannabis therapeutics in the UK. We can boast support from The Green Party, Liberal Democrats and now Labour which is fantastic news for patients all over the country. It's about time we saw some Conservatives showing the same courage and compassion”
Our Patrons would like you to know that along with a Wales Police and Crime Commissioner, Arfon Jones, they will be in attendance for Tea! Click on a flyer for more details.
